Above sparkling, scenic waters that touch Kootenay Lake’s rugged western shoreline, the naturally steaming pools and caves of Ainsworth Hot Springs guarantee relaxation. With a population of only 50 people, Ainsworth is one of the smallest communities in the region. But its attractions and unique scenery make it one of the major tourist destinations.
Caves
A truly unique experience, Ainsworth Hot Springs Resort features a 150 foot horseshoe cave. The mineral water enters the caves from the roof and create a soothing, natural steam bath. A cold pool and swimming area make this a perfect family attraction no matter what time of year.
Located just north of Ainsworth Hot Springs, Cody Caves Provincial Park has an impressive array of limestone caves. The result of 170 million years of dissolved rock and flowing water, the caves continue to change and evolve. Visitors can catch a glimpse of the ancient calcite formations with guided tours in the summer months.
