Nestled in the south west corner of the region you will find community spirit alive and well in Beechy. Only 15 minutes from the Lake, Beechy is a great place to start your vacation this summer. Whether you choose to camp at the community campground north of town, near the 9-hole sand green golf course, or you prefer the spectacular valley scenery at Prairie Lake Regional Park, situated right on the water, this is your relaxing summer getaway. Peaceful, quiet evenings spent around a campfire, star-gazing or tossing your hook into the water, you will feel right at home. Sick of roasting hot dogs over an open fire? Then take the quick drive to the Demaine Hotel and enjoy some of the best food around; try the wings, the skins, the pizza or the steak…it’ll make your mouth water…and of course the drinks are always cold!
The cowboy influence of the area is evident on the last full weekend of September when the cowboys and cowgirls arrive for Beechy Western Days; an annual event entering into its 44th year this fall. This rodeo is unique in that following the long go rounds of Friday and Saturday evenings, the top performers return for the finals on Sunday. Fun for the whole family and an event you don’t want to miss!
